How can anyone cosplay as the original Princess Zelda and still be recognized?
Are you seeing what I'm seeing? Here's what I see:
Her dress with pink and white stripes becomes solid red.
Her dress that's pink with a white stripe becomes solid red.
I would be content to chalk up this discrepancy to graphics limitations and be amused by the difference but someone reminded me of Pauline, the damsel in distress one must rescue from Donkey Kong. Her dress of a solid red or pink hue becomes pink with a white stripe.
Wait, what? Now I'm amused and confused. Pink was possible? Huh. Maybe the girls got together after their art was drawn and swapped dresses before they entered their games.
In any case, with the addition of the right jewelry or a surcoat with the crest of Hyrule emblazoned upon it, I'm sure I could make a costume that convinces people I'm dressed as the original Princess Zelda. It's been done before. But if I wanted to make an accurate costume, I don't know that anyone would recognize me. Die hard fans, maybe, but casual gamers? Might they mistake me for Pauline?
I don't know, it just struck me as weird.
